Alme Allen is an artist of Karuk and Yurok descent who applies inspiration from his own cultures to each of his pieces of artwork. His newest mural titled “We Been Healing That Way” recently went up in Arcata and pulls elements from four different works of art originally done by artist, Karuk activist and mentor, Brian D. Tripp. Aside from painting murals, Allen also carves redwood chairs that have been replicated in concrete. Some of his chairs are currently on display in the San Francisco Academy of Sciences.
