La Doña an artist, activist and educator, performed at Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjack Days on Wednesday, April 19, and spilled the tea on her latest projects.

Cecilia Peña-Govea, La Doña, coined the word “Femmeton” to describe her music that is inspired by various genres of Bay Area hip-hop, reggaeton, and traditional Mexican and Latin American musical styles. She is radical within her lyrics and is bringing awareness to different social justice topics such as gentrification in San Francisco, body positivity and being a queer brown woman.
