2022 Cal Poly Humboldt art graduates exhibition opens April 21

This year’s Cal Poly Humboldt art graduates exhibition opens on Thursday, April 21, with a reception beginning from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m in the Reese Bullen Gallery. The exhibition will run through May 14, following the College of Arts Humanities & Social Sciences commencement ceremony.

This event marks the first in-person exhibition for art graduates’ work after the two-year

hiatus of in-person events. The exhibition showcases the achievements of Humboldt’s graduating art students across major and minor programs. It features a broad range of forms and styles, reflecting students’ diverse identities and influences. As well as the range of media concentrations – from painting, photography, and printmaking to jewelry, sculpture and media arts. A selection of department and community awards will be given acknowledging selected artistic achievements.

The awards ceremony and opening reception will be taking place on Thurs., April 21 from

5 p.m to 6:30 p.m. The awards announcements will begin outside on the art department steps and continue immediately afterward in the Reese Bullen Gallery. There will be raffle prizes, music, snacks and continued celebration for the graduates.

The exhibition is presented both in-person with continued virtual tours available at art.humboldt.edu/galleries. Hybrid virtual and in-person programming will continue the exhibitions, as this is an opportunity to share students’ work with family and friends who might not be able to attend physically. Admission is free and all are welcome.
