Toyon Literary Magazine will host a release party on March 29

Toyon, a multilingual literary magazine from Cal Poly Humboldt, will have a virtual release party March 29 from 3 – 5 p.m. for their new issue, Volume 68.

Volume 68 is a collection of prose, poetry, visual art, and spoken word created by people from all over the world. This year’s edition of the Toyon includes Spanish, Italian, and first ever Swahilian translations by Shani Khalfan.

Students of Cal Poly Humboldt’s English department put together this annual literary magazine. The goal is to encourage creative writing and art-making in Humboldt County.

Toyon hopes to celebrate diversity and inclusion by including multi-national authors and their works along with translations through a theme of “Hope and Healing.”

Following the virtual release party, there will be an in-person event on March 29 at the Library Fishbowl from 6 – 8 p.m.
