Centro Del Pueblo organized protest on Día sin Inmigrantes

On Feb 14, Centro Del Pueblo a community organization that unites diverse members of immigrant, Indigenous communities held a protest for a Day without Immigrants (Un Día sin Inmigrantes) in solidarity with other Latinx organizations across the nations.

Día sin inmigrantes was celebrated by cities across Northern California, including Humboldt county, San Francisco, Sonoma County, Sacramento, and Gilroy. All too participate in a day without going to work, school or shopping to prove that undocumented, documented immigrants take part in the economy.

The goal was to hold President Joe Biden and Vice-president Kamala Harris accountable for their lack of progress in including a Path To Citizenship in the “Build Back Better” bill, which is currently held up in the U.S. Senate, according to Centro Del Pueblo’s Instagram.
