COVID-19 vaccine walk-in appointments available in Fortuna and Arcata
There will be a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Fortuna High School on Saturday May 2.
The clinic will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to Meriah Miracle, the public information officer at the Humboldt County Joint Information Center, making an appointment in advance helps prevent doses from being wasted and gives clinic planners a better idea of how many doses to prepare. People can sign up online at MyTurn.ca.gov or make an appointment by phone at 833-422-4255.
Walk-in appointments are also available on a first come, first serve basis. The Pfizer vaccine is available for everyone 16 and older and minors must have proof of age and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The vaccine is free and no proof of citizenship is needed.
The Arcata Community Center will also have walk-in clinics from Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
